Two New Places to Purchase ReFind Originals Products

Thursday, June 17, 2010 You may now purchase ReFind Originals products at Twisted Sisters, a wonderful, colorful boutique located at 5628 E 71st St!  This little boutique is just packed full with gorgeous gift items. Below is a quote from a page on the Twisted Sisters website:

"Twisted Sisters gift shop was created by two of the most twisted sisters Indianapolis has seen.  The store offers a wide variety of products many of which are made by local and national artists.  They also offer practical and fun manufactured goods.  The store's variety ranges from hand made soaps to stained glass to hand bags to painted stemware.

Many people would classify Twisted Sisters as an "Art Fair in a Box".  The sisters' store was recently voted the #1 gift shop in Indianapolis by WRTV's (channel 6) "A-List".

The sisters bring their 3 poodles to work nearly every day.  These dogs love the attention of all the patrons, especially little kids (because they are play size) and those who bring them treats."  ( I have met these dogs and they are precious!)

Twisted Sisters is a must see, and don't forget to ask about the latest ReFind Originals handbags and accessories while you're there!

If you happen to be downtown in Indianapolis and want to have a nice cultural experience along with making a ReFind Originals purchase be sure to make a stop at the Indiana Historical Society, located at 450 W Ohio St.  You may want to take in one of the concerts on the canal after stopping in at the Bastile History Market, located just inside the museum, overlooking the canal. Read all about the concerts below.

Purse Party!

Friday, May 21, 2010 What happens when a group of wonderful ladies decide to take a "field trip" to my "cozy" studio? Fun! I had the privilege of opening my home and studio to this great group of friends who made an afternoon of lunch at an Irvington neighborhood restaurant, The Legend, which is known for great food and atmosphere, and purse shopping in my studio. It was a whirlwind of questions and chatting and trying on, and planning their own custom bags, which should be ready in about 4 weeks. You can tell by the pictures this was some serious fun!

Black and White for May!

Wednesday, May 19, 2010 The month of May is all about the Indy 500 Race when you live in Indianapolis. ReFind Originals is all about recycling leather all the time. This month I have made these five unique black and white handbags from recycled women's motorcycle jackets. The jackets were prototypes for a women's line of motorcycle apparel and were destined for the trash bin until Tiina Perttu, owner of She-Moto, a company based in Holland,MI that sells Italian made women's motorcycle apparel, found out about ReFind Originals.  She went to the trouble to contact me to see if I could use the jackets, boxing them up, and having a friend of hers who lives in Indianapolis bring them to my door!  I can use almost any leather that is going to be discarded to make one of a kind handbags and accessories.  This is just one example. These bags will be sold at Enroute Spa at the Indianapolis International Airport for $85 each.
